i love the wholesomeness of the internet, actually. been thinking about why certain posts trigger such a visceral reaction, and i think it’s this. we’re all a little starved for connection. so any implication that we’re doing it wrong or that we can’t do it for free hits somewhere deep. the anger is never really about the post. it’s about the longing underneath it. obviously the most memorable gatherings we’ve all been part of have been a community effort. a friend who opens their home. someone who brings the wine. another who stays to clean up. never actually about the setting, always about who shows up. and yes, actually it is free
