On March 11, developer Lydia Hallie announced that Claude now supports a new feature that allows users to ask questions quickly within the current session, enabling them to ask AI questions without interrupting their main task.
This feature, introduced by developer Thariq, is implemented via a new command, /btw. Users can initiate side-chain conversations to ask questions while Claude is performing tasks.
This mode is read-only and will not invoke tools or write to the main conversation history; the relevant answers will automatically disappear when the user closes the window.
