Anthropic will open a permanent office in Washington, D.C., and will triple the size of its public policy team.

According to a report by Axios on March 11, Mars Finance reported that Anthropic is expanding its presence in the U.S. capital in preparation for the midterm elections. Anthropic will triple the size of its policy team and open a permanent office in Washington, D.C., this spring to facilitate long-term engagement with policymakers and think tanks. Sarah Heck, Anthropic's new head of public policy, stated, "AI is developing faster than any technology in history, and the window for making the right policies is closing." Heck succeeds co-founder Jack Clark and will report to President and co-founder Daniela Amodei.
