"Bitcoin will be wiped out with the push of a button" People actually believe this. Here's why they're wrong. Bitcoin runs on open source code. That means anyone in the world can read it, copy it, run it, and verify it. It's not sitting on a server somewhere waiting to be switched off. Right now, thousands of computers (called "nodes") across the world run Bitcoin simultaneously. No government, company, or person controls them. To shut down Bitcoin, you would need to shut down every single one of them, in every country, at the same time. What people confuse with "Bitcoin" is usually an exchange. That can go down, but that's a company, not Bitcoin. The people predicting Bitcoin's death have been wrong for 17 years. They'll keep being wrong.
