According to Odaily Seer, the probability of "Will Elizabeth Warren vote for Kevin Warsh to become the Federal Reserve Chair?" has risen from 1.9% to 28.0%.
A U.S. federal district court has ruled to halt the Justice Department's subpoena investigation into current Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Previously, Senate Banking Committee's top Democrat, Elizabeth Warren, had stated that the confirmation of a new Federal Reserve chairman should not proceed until the Trump administration has completely halted the criminal investigations into Powell and Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook.
Following the ruling, Warren called the investigation "political persecution" and, together with Republican Senator Thom Tillis, urged the Justice Department to abandon the investigation altogether. With the investigation faltering, the preconditions it had set were largely met, significantly reducing the obstacles to Warsh's nomination.
It is worth noting that Warren is known for his strong regulatory stance, while Walsh is more hawkish and favors deregulation of the financial system; their policy positions are clearly opposed.
