Strategy stated in filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it purchased 22,337 Bitcoins last week at an average price of approximately $70,194. With this purchase, Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings increased to 761,068.
This purchase marks the fifth largest in Strategy's history. A week ago, Strategy also invested approximately $1.28 billion to purchase an additional 17,994 Bitcoins.
Strategy's overall average Bitcoin purchase price is approximately $75,696. This purchase was made at a level lower than the average purchase price.
Strategy funded this acquisition through the issuance of Stretch STRC perpetual preferred stock. Strategy secured approximately $1.18 billion by selling about 11.9 million shares of STRC stock last week.
Strategy also sold approximately 2.8 million shares of MSTR common stock during the same period, raising an additional $396 million. These two fundraising rounds covered most of the Bitcoin purchase.
Strategy's current Bitcoin holdings account for approximately 3% of the total circulating supply. To reach its goal of holding 1 million Bitcoins, Strategy needs to purchase an additional 238,932.
Based on current data, it is analyzed that Strategy needs to purchase an additional average of about 5,700 Bitcoins per week to achieve its goal for the remainder of 2026.
