An Argentine court has ordered a complete lockdown of Polymarket.

According to Mars Finance, market sources indicate that a court in Buenos Aires, Argentina, ordered a complete ban on the prediction market platform Polymarket on March 16, 2026. The ban, enforced by the national communications regulator ENACOM, also mandates that Google and Apple remove the app from their local app stores. The ban stems from a complaint by the Buenos Aires Lottery Authority (LOTBA), which determined that Polymarket, under the guise of a "prediction market," was actually operating an unauthorized online gambling business and posed a significant risk to users by not requiring identity or age verification. Argentina thus becomes the second Latin American country, after Colombia, to impose a complete ban on the platform.
