The United States has conditionally eased sanctions on Iranian oil for 30 days.

This authorization allows the delivery and sale of Iranian crude oil and petroleum products already shipped as of March 20th. US Treasury Secretary Bessenter stated that the Treasury Department is issuing a "narrow, short-term authorization" allowing the sale of Iranian oil currently stranded at sea. By temporarily releasing existing oil supplies, the US will quickly provide approximately 140 million barrels of oil to the global market.
