Think on first principles:
If the earth has finite energy available to it (irradiated by solar or stored as hydrocarbons/fission-fusion material)
Then it would be far more useful to humanity to spend 100% of that energy (in the limit) on simply transporting intelligence *off earth* than supporting intelligence on earth.
Because the scope for intelligence off earth is vastly bigger than on.
Ie, take every litre of oil available and burn it up in rockets transporting chips and solar to space - than burning that same oil on earth-bound data centres.
