According to Foresight News and CNBC, a federal judge in San Francisco on Thursday granted Anthropic's application for a preliminary injunction. Anthropic sued the Trump administration, seeking to overturn the Pentagon's decision to blacklist it and President Trump's directive banning federal agencies from using its Claude models. Anthropic sought an injunction to halt these actions and prevent further economic and reputational damage as the case unfolded.
Judge Rita Lin issued the ruling on Thursday. The judge called the government's ban "disturbing" and stated that it "appears to be an attempt to undermine Anthropic."
