Fogo — Ambient Puff Engine Open Session Over the past two weeks, we have looked at the currently implemented features of the Fogo chain, and now we move on to what the team is building next. Doug Colkitt from Citadel Securities and Robert Sagurton from Jump Crypto conducted an open technical session on Fogo's native puff engine, Ambient. I am sharing this because I judged it worth listening to, as it features explanations provided directly by experts with serious backgrounds in both TradFi and Crypto Finance (English Session). - A structure that separates the two elements most exchanges bundle together. - Settlement (Position Management, Margin, Funding Fees, Liquidation): On-chain processing. - Order Execution: Off-chain dual-flow batch auction method. - Prevents latency competition, malicious liquidity, and MEV at the structural design stage. - A market structure designed to ensure individual traders are not penalized by bots. - Aims for a sustainable environment where LPs can actually generate profits. - Planned to be utilized as the underlying engine for the currently live Valiant in the future. Since it is an English session, it is not easy to follow everything, but the concepts themselves are quite clear. I got the impression that this team is addressing why on-chain futures were structurally unfair. I will likely continue to watch how they implement this.
