According to Foresight News , U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis stated that the latest revisions to the CLARITY bill will provide "the strongest protection ever" for DeFi innovators and developers, refuting allegations that the bill fails to protect developers from legal repercussions.
Previously, crypto lawyer Jake Chervinsky pointed out that Section 3 of the draft bill, regarding the definition of fund transferors, could impose KYC obligations on non-custodial software developers. Lummis responded that the relevant clauses have been amended on a bipartisan basis over the past few weeks, and that passing the bill is a necessary step to ensure developers receive legal protection.
