Cool to see this. Very random that I was just talking about this exact study in the last Things Hidden episode. I think it's really good in these instances to not overstate the case. When you dig into the methodology of that study that produces this 63k cross references number, it is kinda shaky IMO. It's just a very inclusive number. But there are much “tighter” estimates as well that I think are much stronger and still drive the point home - there are at least 295 rock solid separate references in the New Testament to scriptures in the Old Testament, including 225 direct citations. There are another 300+ if you include “strong allusions” to previous scriptures. So even if it’s not really 63k but something closer to “many hundreds” - it’s still really impressive. And to be clear, I think the Bible is far and away the most important document in human history and God and Jesus are huge parts of my life.
