EthCC Highlights 🔥 Five Key Highlights @EthCC This year's EthCC was quite different from previous years. It lacked the memes and bull market party atmosphere of the past, instead featuring more bankers and blueprints for future engineering projects. Key highlights included: the biannual hard fork, the first large-scale appearance of institutional funds, and the shift of the quantum threat from academic discussion to concrete EIPs on the roadmap. L2 / Interoperability 💪 L2 fragmentation is currently the biggest pain point in the ecosystem. On average, a new L2 blockchain is created every 19 days, leading to liquidity depletion and ghost towns after the incentive period ends. Several solutions on EthCC address this issue: ▪️ EEZ @etheconomiczone: Initiated by @gnosis_ co-founder and former @0xPolygon zkEVM core developer, with co-funding from @ethereumfndn. 👉 The core is synchronous composability, using ETH gas for atomic transactions between rollups, eliminating cross-chain bridges, and driven by instant ZK proofs. ▪️ Ecosystem Complementarity: @etheconomiczone is progressing in parallel with @ethereumfndn Interop Layer, @Optimism Superchain, and @0xPolygon AggLayer, with the common goal of "One Ethereum".

Account Abstraction / UX ✏️ Vitalik's EIP-8141, heavily promoted by Vitalik, was one of the highlights of this conference. Its goal is to enable accounts to natively support custom verification, execution, and gas logic, with application scenarios covering stablecoin gas payments, social recovery, multi-signature, and quantum-secure signatures. ▪️ Roadmap: From EOA to programmable accounts. After 10+ years of research, Pectra's EIP-7702 paved the way. @ethereumfndn has listed "Improve UX" as one of the three major priorities. ▪️ Status: DoS risks are still being discussed at the March 2026 developer conference; whether to include them in Hegotá is still undecided.
