I wrote a VS Code plugin to track token consumption. The popularity of Lobster (a Chinese tech forum) is waning because most people don't have a real-world application for it. They haven't even mastered their daily manual tasks and have no need for it. They install Lobster and spend a lot of time on it, only to find they're just monitoring prices and weather. AI can definitely empower us. But don't follow the trend; understanding your own needs is far more important than anything else.
