Coinbase is advancing internal testing of its AI agent.

According to Mars Finance, Decrypt reports that Coinbase is testing AI agents integrated with Slack and email to provide high-level feedback to employees as virtual colleagues. The initial systems are based on the decision-making styles of co-founder Fred Ehrsam and former CTO Balaji Srinivasan, respectively. The "Fred" agent assists in refining documents, strategies, and concepts, while the "Balaji" agent focuses on fostering innovation and new perspectives. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that the next step will be to make it easier for employees to create more agent employees. He added that in the future, agents may not necessarily be digital clones of real people, and that the company's number of AI agents may exceed the number of human employees "at some point soon."
