Keith Gill's verified X (Twitter) account, known by the nickname Roaring Kitty and boasting 1.6 million Watcher, posted a Pump.fun contract address on Solana on Monday after 16 months of silence, leading most traders to believe the account had been compromised.
The May 11th post only included the Token address and a short animated clip, with no further explanation. This posting style is completely different from Gill's previous approach, where he usually did long GameStop livestreams and Chia detailed market insights.
Sixteen months of silence were broken by a Token on Pump.fun.
The post, which appeared at 21:13 GMT, mentioned a newly launched meme coin on Solana called Red Kitten Crew (RKC). Shortly after, the account posted an image with the caption "red bandit crew 4 life".
The Roaring Kitty account has reappeared. Both of these posts have now been deleted.
Gill also hinted that he holds both GameStop (GME) and RKC, causing RockyCat's price to increase by 25% in a short period.

Meanwhile, RockyCat on the BNB Chain is a long-standing community meme project, unrelated to Pump.fun or the aforementioned event. There is no collaboration, team, or connection between the two projects — they only share the same name, which is being exploited to temporarily "inflate" the price.
Immediately after its launch on Pump.fun, the RKC Token was transferred to Raydium within minutes. The Token price peaked at a market Capital of $5.97 million, then stabilized at around $4 million. The 24-hour volume reached $2.55 million.

Gill's public content mainly revolves around options trading, value investing philosophy, and impromptu live streams on YouTube.
Why do many traders believe their accounts have been hacked?
Many GameStop holders and on-chain analysts immediately noticed the anomaly. They said the sudden and unexplained return was highly suspicious. In particular, the promotion of a new Token on Pump.fun was completely unlike Gill's previous style.
This pattern is quite similar to recent major account hijackings in the crypto world. For example, Michael Saylor 's MicroStrategy account was hacked. Or last year, hackers also took over Kylian Mbappe 's X account to promote meme Token.
Pump.fun itself has been used for scams on numerous occasions. According to research, 98.6% of Token launched on this platform show signs of fraud or transaction manipulation.
Gill has not responded to these posts on any other platforms. Therefore, until confirmed, the majority of investors consider RKC to be a high-risk, unverified asset associated with potential account breaches.

“Many people think this account was hacked. But I don’t think so. I believe it’s part of a plan. In my opinion, he intentionally posted tweets that looked like they were hacked to create maximum confusion. That’s his style. The market will definitely be very volatile tonight with this information,” market researcher Jake Wujastyk Chia .
