According to Odaily Odaily, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the U.S. military conducted a "self-defense strike" against southern Iran local time to protect U.S. forces in the Middle East from threats from Iran.
The statement said the targets included missile launch sites and Iranian vessels attempting to lay mines. CENTCOM also stated that during the current ceasefire, the U.S. military will continue to exercise restraint and protect its own forces.
