The Sui blockchain network recently experienced a serious outage, halting Block production for several hours, disrupting transactions across the entire ecosystem and raising concerns about the stability of one of the most prominent Layer-1 blockchains in the crypto market.
In an official announcement , the Sui development team confirmed that the Primary Network is experiencing a "network stall," meaning the system is temporarily unable to continue validating new Block . The Sui core development team stated they are urgently working on a fix and warned that transactions on the network may be temporarily suspended while the issue is being resolved.
This incident quickly impacted many protocols operating within the Sui ecosystem, particularly Walrus—a prominent decentralized data storage protocol built on this platform. According to information released by Walrus on May 28th, the Primary Network is currently unable to process data write operations due to the direct impact of the Sui outage. However, data read operations via aggregators are still functioning normally, allowing users to access previously existing data.
