Gwynne Shotwell stated that SpaceX is not aiming to fulfill all Capital expectations on the first day of its IPO, but rather is targeting investors who are willing to accept long-term growth.
The CEO and COO of SpaceX said the company wants to be seen as an infrastructure business, not just manufacturing rockets and launch platforms, but also expanding into data centers on the ground and in orbit. She also called SpaceX an emerging competitor in the field of artificial intelligence.
When discussing indicators investors should monitor, Shotwell highlighted Starlink's user growth and Starship's development progress. She also mentioned Starlink Mobile and the expansion of the Grok ecosystem, powered by xAI.
Shotwell said SpaceX plans to launch its first AI1 satellite by the end of next year. Prior to that, the company will deploy computing power on several broadband Starlink satellites and mobile communications satellites to test the technology and related operational models.
She also said SpaceX is committed to ensuring the U.S. government has access to the most advanced technological capabilities.
