ChatGPT is really easy to use. I am obsessed with operating it every day. I find that the more I use it, the more efficient I use it. Naturally, I hope to recharge as a PLUS member. Unfortunately, the payment step is stuck...
After various tests, my colleagues and I finally managed it successfully. It is not easy, so I would like to share the strategy with you.
First of all, open the PLUS version, 20 dollars per month (excluding tax), the benefits are:
1. The stability is improved, and the possibility of "generation failure" is significantly reduced
2. There is no need to queue up to enter ChatGPT, even during peak hours
3. The speed of answering content has become significantly faster! In addition, (suspected) more proactive, will share some additional information
(↑Very subjective, no double-blind test)
4. In case AI rules the internet one day, I'm at least an early supporter (just kidding)
Mainland users/developers can't handle payment because (I speculate):
1.ChatGPT uses Link, a third-party plug-in, to collect money, and Link seems to exclude some non-US card issuers;
2. Link sometimes kills IP addresses with abnormal traffic, for example, some ladders are used by too many people;
3. The payment page of Link seems to exclude some non-US IPs.
Of course, it may be possible in some overseas regions, but not in some regions. For example, when I checked the English guide, I saw that many English users were also complaining, such as Germany and New Zealand.
However, one fact is certain, that is, a normal US IP + a normal US Visa/MasterCard bank card is acceptable.
The bypass solution mainly relies on Apple Pay, the solution:
1. First prepare a suitable scientific Internet access plan to obtain a normal US IP.
2. Apply for an American bank card, such as Huamei, or what everyone calls DePay (but I failed with DePay, it said:
your card was declined. please try a different card or your card was declined. please use a debit card.)
3. Use an Apple device, use safari, and turn on the incognito mode. Then after logging in to ChatGPT, sometimes you can swipe out Apple Pay to pay! Instead of Link's payment plan【This step is the most important! 】
4. Bind Apple Pay with a bank card (I'm not sure if non-US cards can be bypassed, I still use Huamei).
5. Then complete the Plus payment with Apple Pay.
The third step was figured out by myself - it's really strange, if you log in with PC or MAC or non-incognito mode, you can't scan the Apple Pay payment channel. I suspect that it has some special means set up in the front end. I believe that many people are stuck at the step of Card declined, and Apple Pay bypasses the restrictions of bank cards. So it's the top priority.
