The largest decentralized exchange (DEX) Uniswap has a Chinese copycat version! Uniswap founder and CEO Hayden Adams warned on his personal Twitter today (3) that there is a scam impersonating Uniswap in Shenzhen, China.
A number of community members reported that the "UNISWAP First Asia Regional Summit Forum" was recently held in Shenzhen, China, and a number of foreigners with Western faces were invited to play high-level executives including the CEO of Uniswap. The scene was quite magical. (Some members of the community who shared the video also said that the event was held in Hong Kong, and the audience and host were from Shenzhen)
Hayden Adams said:
The video looks pretty crazy, and I don't know who those people are. This activity has nothing to do with these so-called Uniswap official people and the genuine Uniswap and the Uniswap Foundation.
I think it's some kind of scam.
The cottage version of Uniswap has an official website and also organizes Zoom meetings
Hayden Adams went on to point out that this copycat version of Uniswap also forked the official website (still pending for the domain to be taken off the shelves), and this scam website also added Chinese community content and links to the real Uniswap application in an attempt to make a difference for their plans. Painting adds more believability.
In addition, this fraudulent organization even held a one-hour Zoom meeting, which showed the high-level structure of this copycat version of Uniswap, including fake CEO MIKE HANLON, fake technical chief FELIX D, fake chief operating officer BRIL JAYMS, fake chief financial officer ELIJAH ROBINSON .
Hayden Adams also humorously asked the fake executives to remember "we don't wear a bunch of suits" next time they want to impersonate them
