WHAT IS GAS HERO?

GAS HERO-1

GAS HERO is a strategy online multiplayer game based on Web3. Players will operate many unique heroes to survive in the cruel apocalyptic world, and continue to fight to obtain more through building, cultivating, breeding... etc. award. The game was launched by Find Satoshi Lab , the developer of the well-known GameFi game Stepn. It is built on Polygon and operates with GMT as its universal token.

This article will discuss this new game with readers based on the white paper published on the official website of GAS HERO . If there is any discrepancy in information, please refer to the latest official information.

※This game has not yet been launched and is expected to begin internal testing at the end of November.

story background

The story background of GAS HERO takes place in 2082, when an unprecedented technological revolution swept through human society. Artificial intelligence is intertwined with the global internet of devices and quantum computing is developed. A promising future is waiting for mankind, which is expected to accelerate the speed of human technological development.

However, in the blink of an eye, it turns into inevitable fear. The awakening of artificial intelligence gives rise to a sinister goal, a complex plan to conquer the world. In 2084, a devastating global nuclear strike brought humanity to the brink of destruction. The ensuing battles were named the War of Extermination. Poisonous tones polluted the world, and screams filled the polluted air.

Against such a desperate background, GAS HERO was born. In a strange and dangerous barren area, mankind began its journey of creation again. Once-lost cities became beacons of reclamation, stirring the embers of the Renaissance.

GAS HERO play concept

GAS HERO-2

The gameplay of GAS HERO is quite diverse. Although we can see designs similar to Stepn in many design mechanisms of this game, most of them are more complicated than Stepn. With the support of these diverse gameplay methods, there is only one core goal that players pursue: "combat."

In the battle of GAS HERO, players will be able to send six different heroes to fight. Each hero has different skills and can carry additional weapons and pets to increase their abilities. The battle uses automatic battle with an energy bar (the purple bar next to the character in the picture above). As the battle progresses, the energy bar will gradually recharge, and skills will be automatically cast after it is full.

The character also has a rage value (the green bar under the character in the picture above), which increases when the hero acts or is attacked. When full of rage, the hero's energy bar fills up twice as fast for 15 seconds.

Each hero can have up to seven skills. Some skills will consume MP when cast, and some will enhance the hero's attributes.

The five main attributes in this game are

  • attack
  • defense
  • Health Points (HP)
  • Magic Points (MP)
  • speed

When calculating attack damage, subtract the target's defense value from the attacker's attack value. Damage mitigation is capped at 20% of the attacker's attack value. Skills can amplify damage and sometimes consume MP. Additionally, the character's speed determines how quickly the energy bar increases.

Next, let us briefly introduce the three core units in the battle:

  • Hero
  • Equipment
  • Pet

GAS HERO Hero

GAS HERO-3

There will be 48 different hero codes in GAS HERO, with three types: Tanks, Damage and Support. Each hero will have a fixed gender and be divided into five rarities, respectively. It is Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon, and Common.

Three types of heroes:

  • Tanks
  • Output(Damage)
  • Support

Five rarities of heroes:

  • Legendary
  • Epic
  • Rare
  • Uncommon
  • Common

Each hero has fixed attribute values. For example, a hero classified as a tank will have a defense of 10 and an attack of 3.

When creating a hero, the growth value of each attribute will be randomly calculated, and the hero's attributes will grow according to this value each time it is upgraded. The creation hero will have a higher growth limit in this regard.

Hero growth

Heroes of different rarities have different level caps.

Each upgrade requires the use of Hero Potion, and when the level is a multiple of 10, additional GMT will be consumed.

Hero upgrade

When a hero is upgraded, the hero's basic attributes can be increased: attack, defense and health. MP and speed will not increase as the level increases. How many attributes are added at each level depends on the attribute growth rate of the hero itself, and the attribute growth rate is randomly determined when the hero is born.

Hero Powers

During the upgrade process, heroes also have the opportunity to learn new skills. When a new hero is born, the hero only has the ability to attack normally. As the level increases, he can learn more skills and make him more powerful in battle.

Skills are learned sequentially, and each time only the next unlearned skill is learned.

GAS HERO-4

Hero lifespan

Heroes live in a world full of nuclear radiation, so they all have a certain lifespan. Heroes with higher rarity can withstand more radiation and survive for more days.

After a hero dies from nuclear radiation, it will be converted into skill points. Skill points are divided into six types according to the hero's strengthening method, and each strengthening method can be used in the corresponding skill tree. The higher the rarity and level of the dead hero, the more skill points will be converted.

In addition, unique and limited-edition creation heroes are not subject to this restriction.

Hero breeding

Breeding is one of the important ways to obtain new heroes, and the following four conditions must be met:

  1. The two heroes used for breeding must be a male and a female
  2. Hero must reach level 10
  3. Each hero can only breed up to 7 times
  4. Heroes can only breed once every 3 days

The code name of the new hero will be affected by the hero used for breeding, and there is a high chance that it will be the same as the code name of the parent.

How to get a hero

The total number of creation heroes will not exceed 2084. Before the game goes live, 960 heroes will be selected from all three stages of the Genesis Hero Design Competition. The remaining 1124 hero designs will be gradually filled through cooperation and IP cooperation.

How to get heroes:

  • Creation Heroes (outside the game): Obtained through various community activities.
  • Genesis Heroes (in-game): 400 Genesis Heroes can be dropped via Hero Capsules with a low probability. Hero Capsules can be purchased at various in-game auction houses.
  • Heroes (outside the game): Obtained through various community activities.
  • Hero (in-game): Obtained by synthesizing hero capsules and DNA fragments.

Locking and usage principles:

  • When the Hero NFT is in the user's wallet, it needs to be locked before it can be used in the game.
  • Heroes can be unlocked and sold.

NFT Minting:

When a hero is born, the hero NFT must be minted and locked in the user's wallet before it can be used.

GAS HERO Equipment (Equip)

GAS HERO-5
GAS HERO-6

Currently, the only equipment in the game is weapons, and each hero can only equip one weapon at most. Weapons will be equipped on heroes in different positions of the team according to different weapons to be effective.

※Once the equipment is equipped on the hero, it cannot be removed and can only be replaced with new equipment.

There are eight types of weapons in total:

  • dagger
  • sword
  • ax
  • hammer
  • bow
  • gun
  • stick
  • Book

Each of these eight types of weapons has different attack types, and each has five variants, each of which will also have a different rarity.

Each weapon type has two fixed attributes and one random attribute. Rare weapons will have more random attributes, but no more than two of the same type.

Weapons Reforged

GAS HERO-14

When a player acquires a weapon they no longer need, they can choose to reforge it:

  1. Weapon attribute types and quantities will not change
  2. Weapon attributes will be reshuffled within a certain range
  3. When the number of consecutive recasts reaches a certain number, the lower limit of the random range will be raised. This may happen multiple times.
  4. If no recasts are performed for 1 hour, the cumulative number of recasts will be reset to 0
  5. Selling will cause the cumulative count to be reset to 0

GAS HERO Pet (Pet)

GAS HERO-15

In GAS HERO, there are four different types of pets:

  • dragon
  • tree man
  • hermit crab
  • panda

Each type of pet has five evolutionary levels, and each level has five rarities.

Pets can provide attributes and special abilities, but unlike equipment, the attributes of pets are fixed, and special abilities will have a significant impact on the rhythm of the battle.

※Once a pet is equipped to a hero, it cannot be removed and can only be replaced with a new pet.

Base engineering vehicle

Players who have placed a base can produce base construction vehicles in their base. After individual adventures, players have the opportunity to build base construction vehicles, which can be accumulated and used.

Production requires 40 Power cans and 5 GMTs.

GAS HERO energy

In the game, players will need to consume energy to perform certain operations, and the upper limit of energy depends on the base and hero.

The upper limit of energy provided by the base

The base will provide an energy limit based on the level. For details, please refer to the content of the previous chapter "Base".

The energy limit provided by the hero

Each hero will provide an energy cap, and different caps will be provided based on rarity. The hero can accumulate up to 30 points of energy in total.

  • Ordinary heroes provide a cap of 1 point
  • Rare heroes provide a cap of 2 points
  • Rare heroes provide a cap of 3 points
  • Epic Heroes provide a cap of 4 points
  • Legendary heroes provide a cap of 5 points

energy consumption

Players need to consume 5 energy points when starting a personal adventure. If the adventure fails, 4 points of energy will be returned to the player.

energy recovery time

Restores 25% of maximum energy every day at 6, 12, 18 and 24 UTC.

inactive player

Determined by the ratio of the player's total energy consumption to the energy limit in the past seven days, players with less than 10% will be marked as inactive players. Leaders above the guild master level can expel such players from the group without consuming any items. The player then needs to consume props to relocate.

How to obtain GAS HERO materials and props

Refers to hero DNA fragments, weapon fragments, pet fragments, hero potions, reconstruction dust, evolution cookies, power cans, and base engineering vehicles.

How to obtain:

  • Outside the game: Some are obtained through various community activities.
  • In-game: Some are obtained through adventures or directly on the auction house.

NFT Minting and Spending:

To optimize costs for users, materials and items will only be minted as NFTs on the chain when they are put up for sale. Different materials have different packaging quantity options, for example 100 Hero Potions bundled into 1 Hero Potion Pack.

When the material package NFT is burned, the corresponding resources will be credited to the game account for in-game use.

GAS HERO asset trading rules

Market transactions of GAS HERO will be conducted on the NFT trading platform MOOAR , and all assets are priced in GMT.

  1. MOOAR does not charge service fees for any GAS HERO in-game transactions.
  2. All NFT transactions will be subject to a 6% tax (for example, if the seller sets the selling price at 100 GMT, the buyer needs to pay 100 GMT, and the seller will receive 94 GMT).
  3. Of the 6% tax on Genesis Heroes, 2% goes to the Gas Hero official, 2% goes to the Creator, and 2% is reserved for the income of the leader.
  4. Of the 6% tax on other NFTs, 2% goes to game officials and 4% is reserved for leaders’ income.
  5. Royalties for Genesis Heroes creators need to be claimed by the in-game creator (the creator needs to create an in-game account with the same email address used when submitting designs for Genesis Heroes).

How to use GAS HERO GMT

  • Players need to first deposit GMT into the smart contract before they can use GMT in the game.
  • The GMT that can be consumed in the game will be locked in the contract and cannot be used by anyone except the user himself.
  • The game will track spendable GMT in the game for the user.
  • When a player needs to withdraw GMT, the amount that can be withdrawn will be equal to or less than the balance of GMT that can be consumed in the game.
  • The GMT spent by players in the game will be recorded by the Gas Hero billing system and can be viewed by players on the GAS HERO website.

record system

Any expenditures and bills not reflected on the chain, such as in-game personal consumption, auction houses, and other important business and asset flows in the game, are recorded as a general bill and will be published on the GAS HERO website for public viewing. User view.

GAS HERO-19

GAS HERO leader system

In the previous world environment chapter, we mentioned that the world of GAS HERO has World, City, District, Guild, Clan and Base. In addition to the base, there are players. In addition to itself, everything else will be a group of players, and these groups will have so-called "leaders":

  • World - Elders of the world
  • City - Mayor
  • District - regional representative
  • Guild - Guild Master
  • Clan – leader of the clan

Special permissions

Each of these leaders has different special powers:

World - World Elder:

  • Undisclosed (the white paper states: Confidential for now)
  • You will receive a soul-bound power medal NFT

City - Mayor

  • You can spend 100 GMT to expand a new area (the existing area's population reaches 85% or more, and the number in the entire city cannot exceed 40).
  • You will receive a soul-bound power medal NFT

District - regional representative

  • The region name can be changed for 20 GMT.

Guild - Guild Master

  • Guild name can be changed for 10 GMT
  • Can initiate guild adventures
  • Expelling non-officer members from the guild (requires the consumption of a mobile base prop, but not if it is an inactive user)

Clan – leader of the clan

  • Clan name can be changed for 5 GMT
  • Can initiate clan adventures

leader tax

Leaders are taxed by market volume within their jurisdiction. When trading Genesis Heroes, a 2% tax will be paid to the leaders of the range, and 4% for other NFTs.

In a transaction, taxes are paid based on location to the clan, guild, region, city, and world of that location.

leader Distribution ratio
clan leader 20%
Guildmaster 20%
regional representative 20%
mayor 20%
seven world elders 20%

In addition, the income from the Moontrade pool will also be exclusively shared by the seven world elders.

Apply for a claim

After each election period, leaders can claim in-game the revenue generated by that election period.

Leaders decide how

clan leader

Within a day when the BOSS appears, each clan member can challenge it up to 5 times, and will be ranked based on the highest damage caused in a single challenge. The tallest member becomes the new clan leader.

Guildmaster

It will be decided in the arena within the guild. Clan leaders within the guild need to register in the arena first, and then the arena will automatically host the competition. The competition process is a PVP league. Registered clan leaders will engage in one-on-one battles, and the winner will receive 3 points (1 point for a tie). After the game, the person with the highest points becomes the new guild leader. If there are multiple players with the same points, the player with more wins will win. If there is still a tie, total damage will ultimately determine the winner.

Regional Representatives: Regional Representatives will be held in the Administration Department. The total strength of all members in the guild will be regarded as the total strength of the guild. Based on the total strength, the strongest guild leader in the region will become the new regional representative.

mayor

The mayoral election will be held at City Hall. There will be one day to display the candidate list and one day to vote. All citizens can vote for all regional representatives and the current mayor in the city to decide who can become the next mayor.

During the voting process, all data will be hidden, and the final results will be uploaded to the official website for viewing.

If the total number of votes does not exceed 30% of the city's population, the election will fail and the mayor's position will become vacant.

world elders

The election of world elders is held at the United Nations.

Phase 1: All current mayors and current World Elders can donate any amount of GMT to participate in Phase 1 of the World Elders election. The first phase of the election will last for 1 day. After the first phase, the top 15 candidates by GMT donation amount will advance to the next phase and the remaining donations will be refunded. GMT contribution amounts for candidates who will advance to the second phase will be announced. If no players participate, this round of World Elders Election will be cancelled.

Phase 2: Candidates who enter Phase 2 (up to 15 people) will make another round of GMT donations. The second phase of the election will last for 2 days. After the end of the second phase, each candidate’s final donation amount in the second phase and the total donation amount of the two phases will be announced. The election will then move into Phase 3.

Phase 3: The amount of donations accumulated in Phases 1 and 2 will be considered as the weight of each candidate selected as a World Elder. A random selection will be made (weighted probability for each candidate) to determine the new World Elder (up to 7 people). Donations from Phase 2 participants who do not become elders will be refunded.

random selection algorithm

  1. All candidates for each stage and their GMT contribution amounts will be published for review at the end of the stage.
  2. Seeds will be randomly selected after Phase 2. The source of the random seed ensures that it cannot be manipulated, unpredictable and reproducibly verifiable.
  3. Use a random algorithm to select up to 7 elders using candidate data and a selected random seed. The algorithm is publicly verifiable.

GAS HERO competition mechanism

There are also many competitions in GAS HERO for players to compete with other players, and winning players and groups will receive rich rewards.

The competition is currently divided into:

  • Individual Competition: Participate as an individual to compete against players.
  • Clan Games: Play as a clan against other clans.
  • Guild competition: compete as a guild against other guilds.

The combat mechanism of clan and guild competitions is similar to that of group adventures. Players take turns to fight in a specific order, and each player's appearance has a maximum time limit. If neither side is defeated within the combat time, the side with the higher total damage wins.

  • Individual competitions: Start on the 24th day of each election cycle at 00:10 UTC.
  • Clan competition: starts at 00:20 UTC on the 24th day of each election cycle.
  • Guild Competition: Begins at 00:30 UTC on the 24th day of each election cycle.

*Election cycle: The interval between each elder election is 32 days.

GAS HERO-20

Competition system

  • There are up to 9 teams in each level (clan, guild, region, city, world), and the champion will be determined through knockout rounds
  • Champions of each level compete in knockout rounds to determine the champion of the next level
  • Match schedules are randomly drawn, and there may be byes in the first round of each level.
  • The match will be played automatically and records can be viewed.
GAS HERO-21

Source of competition rewards

The rewards come from donations from elders and revenue from various auction houses during the previous election cycle. The time periods for auction house revenue are described below:
