Splinterlands Releases Promo Cards for Bitcoin Halving Event

Splinterlands, the popular auto-battler trading card game on the Hive blockchain, has released two limited-edition cards, Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer, to mark the Bitcoin Halving Event. These cards, which have a unique “Halving” ability, are among a small group of special cards within the Splinterlands collection.

The Baron’s Bounty sale began on April 16 and will run for 15 days. The promo cards are available for purchase using either Credits or Dark Energy Crystals ($DEC), with Baron Fyatt priced at 31,250 $DEC and Henchling Enforcer at 3,125 $DEC.

Each card purchase has a 4% chance of including a gold foil variant, and buying 25 cards guarantees at least one gold foil.

Splinterland’s New Reward System and Glint Store

In addition to the new cards, Splinterlands has updated its reward system.

The introduction of a new in-game currency and a dedicated store, known as the Glint Store, allows players to choose their own rewards, replacing the previous randomized chest system.

Each purchase during the sale earns points toward a lucky draw with various prizes, including card packs, land plots, and unique NFTs. The top 200 purchasers receive special titles, while the top 20 will receive extra promo cards including guaranteed gold foil versions.

Splinterlands has seen a drop in player numbers despite adjustments to its reward system. However, the introduction of the new promo cards seems to have sparked renewed interest among existing players, with over 2,500 Barons sold within the first few days of the sale.
