It’s always been “your chain, your rules”. This motto led our direction in developing the Arbitrum Platform with complete ownership of everything, especially governance. x.com/sgoldfed/status/17176131...… There’s a natural progression that every serious team goes through. At the beginning, shared infrastructure, and upgrades is a gift. You move fast because you don’t have to build everything yourself. As you mature, something changes. You want: • your own upgrade cadence • your own governance process • control over security assumptions and fee mechanisms • the ability to ship without waiting That instinct is healthy. If we want teams to innovate and thrive long term, we cannot expect them to rely on governance that isn’t theirs to move protocol proposals forward. But here’s the real question: Does gaining independence mean giving up shared liquidity, shared security, and economic alignment? On the Arbitrum Platform, it doesn’t. The platform was designed for this stage of maturity. Teams can: • Launch within shared infrastructure • Evolve into dedicated environments • Customize execution, sequencing, fees, governance • Control their own upgrade keys And still remain economically connected to a broader, functioning ecosystem. A platform that serves many economies cannot belong to any single one of them. Arbitrum’s role isn’t to steer the technical roadmap or cadence for teams. It’s to provide neutral infrastructure strong enough that independent systems can grow on top of it, and benefit each other. The future isn’t one chain. It’s many independent economies connected by shared rails. You should be able to take the wheel, without leaving the paved roads.
