It has been exactly 1 year since I wrote that AI memo. People are definitely reaching for AI reflexively.

We've been experimenting with pi-autoresearch to optimize the new canvas rendering engine. 10x improvement on the slowest test in couple hours. 🤯 While it did take some shortcuts that degraded rendering quality, it also came up with several great ideas that were easy to cherry x.com/tobi/status/20…

Learning exercise: inspired by @tobi's qmd (https://github.com/tobi/qmd) I rebuilt the retrieval pipeline in the browser to understand each stage more deeply. Query expansion, BM25, vector search, RRF fusion, cross-encoder reranking — all running locally via WebGPU + @huggingface

OK, well. I ran /autoresearch on the the liquid codebase. 53% faster combined parse+render time, 61% fewer object allocations. This is probably somewhat overfit, but there are absolutely amazing ideas in this.

I'm on parliament hill this morning to speak in opposition to Bill C9, Mark Carey's censorship law. This law poses a grave risk to free speech, including religious speech, even with amendments. It must be opposed.
