"buy assets to avoid the permanent underclass" Ok, but "permanent underclass" implies a breakdown of law and order Because when the current economic model collapses, people hit the streets and governments topple overnight So which assets are you buying? Keep in mind your equities only have value if the ruling party still respects property rights and rule of law Held Russian equities before the revolution? Total loss. Same story has played out many times. Bitcoin and gold are the only $1T+ value assets that can realistically protect considerable wealth in a chaotic / unpredictable future. They have property rights built right into them. Both are neutral store of value assets that aren't tied to any one country's fate... But only one of them makes it across a border undetected. You can fly across the world with $1 Billion of Bitcoin in your brain and no one could know. Given the way the world is evolving, the market is grossly undervaluing this unique aspect of Bitcoin IMO.

Tell me another kind of private property that you can take with you anywhere in the world without any third party permission, and without anyone noticing (you can only shove so many gold bars up your ass) Private property that can be bought and sold in tiny amounts 24/7, and has a finite supply. Finite, liquid, sovereign, private property is pretty useful

Gold has made it to $27 Trillion market cap and none of your friends or family care. The same will happen to BTC. $1 million a coin will come and the world will still go on around you.
