If there’s going to be a SpaceX IPO, a lot of $TSLA investors are going to sell some stock to get in on it. Elon will have two public companies to deal with (extra scrutiny, litigation exposure, earnings calls, etc.).
Tesla investors have wanted to own SpaceX shares for years. The future of Tesla, SpaceX and xAI are converging anyways with AI, data centers, robotics and manufacturing. Lots of shared resources between companies to be unlocked. Overhead reduced. Ownership and control consolidated. One crazy earnings call every quarter. Merge.
