Assuming you are asking in good faith and want clarification - the point here is that the hard part of the architecture is ensuring that everything the L2 does is verifiable and sits on top of Ethereum. Let’s say that we remove all of that code that we spent 18 months building

Agree. Rollup clusters will have faster native interop. Interop between L1s will have a worse cost & delay trade-off.
