I think the old guard of the stock indices DID NOT LIKE that MSTR was climbin g the ranks with shareholder dilution rather than pure performance on a level playing field. This was a highly rigged way to cheat the ranking system at the expense of the common shareholder.
I think the committee suggest same in arms length conversations, which may have influenced the Board's decision to remit guidance. But then, when they learned of NASDAQ's (probably coordinated) new rules, they thumbed their nose at the institutions by quickly modifying it. If you think this is proper or helpful behavior, you should probably be in jail.
