OK, this quantum FUD is going out of proportions and is stealing focus from the real problems that Bitcoin has at the moment, which are:
- dev/maintaner capture and
- attempt to slowly centralize nodes, by abusing them with spam.
There are at least 3 loud accounts on X, spreading quantum FUD.
Common to them is that they are all invested in quantum, and are desperately trying to make it relevant again, screen shots below.
Until quantum is able to reliably and repeatedly break 64bit ECDS, there's no reason for Bitcoiners, to waste our time on it.
We may start discussing relevant BIPs IMO, when quantum reliably and repeatedly breaks 128bit ECDS. It's a long way from 128bit to 256bit, so we will have plenty of time to implement relevant BIPs and move our Bitcoin to new addresses.
