2/ Rezero: Has there ever been such a string of big names mentioned in such a row? a: Citadel, DTCC (the world's largest clearinghouse), and ICE (a mega-financial infrastructure company) have joined Zero as partners. Citadel, in particular, has made a strategic investment in ZRO. b: Cathie Wood's Ark Invest purchases ZRO tokens + invests in Layer Zero Labs + joins the advisory board. c: Google Cloud, DTCC, and ICE partnership. ICE, the parent company of the NYSE, is also considering leveraging the ZERO chain to support 24/7 trading. d: Tether invests in Layer Zero. e: GTE, a former mega-ethereum, also joins Layer Zero. ✍️Have we ever seen so many partners join simultaneously, given their reputation? It seems like an unusually large announcement, which makes us anticipate the performance of Layer Zero's new mainnet, ZERO. The downside of a technically advanced team is often that the technology is amazing, but there aren't enough people to utilize it. However, the ZERO mainnet is a collaboration with partners who are not only renowned but also key players in the market with established financial networks. I believe they will be able to provide the necessary support, including the return of the valley and the handling of transactions. This ZERO announcement was a clear demonstration of their ambition to truly take over institutional-level infrastructure. Perhaps due to the pre-announcement marketing and the early hype generated, the price has actually fallen and moved sideways since the announcement. However, from a technical standpoint, it's definitely worth watching. The mainnet is expected to launch this fall. 1/ Layer Zero Announcement Summary Summary: The news is huge, but the date-based marketing certainly generated a lot of excitement? Let's quickly summarize Layer Zero news. 1. ZERO Mainnet (No separate token issuance) They've launched a technologically advanced mainnet. ZERO features the first multi-core world computer, with a whopping 2 million transactions per second! This solution combines QMDB (state storage), FAFO (Failure-to-Operate-for-Failure), Jolt (real-time ZK proof), and SVID (Simple Verification of Data) for high-throughput processing, creating a new type of chain. It's a bit confusing, but here's a simpler explanation of the core principles: As anyone who's run a node at home knows, existing blockchains require valleys to download and execute all existing transactions to run the chain. Simply synchronizing the node can take up to ten hours. However, ZERO only requires minimal transaction verification using ZK proof. This means there's no need to download the existing transactions that Valley used to do, and only the proof of transactions can be easily processed! This means there's no need to download past data, only the proof of computation. This is the key difference. We also introduced the concept of Atomicity Zones. Layer Zero says, "If existing blockchains were single-core, we've brought the transition to multi-core to the market!" For example, Zone 1 handles high-frequency futures trading, Zone 2 handles the social media layer, and Zone 3 handles general payment channels, resulting in a much more horizontally scalable architecture. There are also several other smaller technological advancements, but the key one is the 2 million TPS (Transactions Per Second)! This is enough to handle all transactions occurring in existing finance! This seems to sum up the expectations in the international market. First Tweet (10:23 PM) Rumors are spreading again. LayerZero is planning to launch its own chain, "Zero," which is "a decentralized, multi-core blockchain designed to function as an internet-scale marketplace infrastructure. By decoupling execution and verification using zero-knowledge proofs, Zero replaces redundant replication with proof-based verification, enabling horizontal scaling of execution while making verification lightweight and permissionless. Through Atomicity Zones, a protocol-proprietary parallel execution environment, Zero enables on-chain, verifiable global marketplaces by providing high-throughput, low-cost settlements without compromising security, governance, or state partitioning." Rumors suggest that LayerZero is also using Risc Zero for ZK proofs, ensuring extremely high throughput and eliminating redundancy in consensus. Layer Zero Big Thing Spoiler - What's worth keeping an eye on? What's going on? I just woke up with a blood sugar spike after eating and the charts are going crazy! Let's summarize three key points. 1. Layer Zero launches its own chain, ZERO -> Layer Zero announced on YouTube that they were launching a new chain, but then the price dropped again. The market interpreted this as, "We already have ZRO and STG, so they're launching a mainnet again!? What about the existing tokens?!?" and the price plummeted. The video in question has since been removed. 2. Layer Zero announces investment from Tether. This makes me wonder if Tether has made such an investment before. The total investment amount hasn't been disclosed, but I can't help but wonder if they might have been a little nervous about Tether's investment. Tether cited Tether's Wallet Development Kit (WDK) as the primary reason for its investment, stating, "Combined with Tether's Wallet Development Kit (WDK), this infrastructure provides the most advanced foundational rails for digital asset payments, settlement, and custody for real-world use cases. It's also optimized for agent finance, enabling AI agents to operate their own autonomous wallets and trade stablecoins and digital assets at scale, frictionlessly." Perhaps Tether envisions AI agents operating as these rails, leveraging the Layer system to facilitate payments. 3. Otherwise, they might just reveal the details. Is this all there is to the mainnet's effectiveness and Tether's investment announcement, or is there more news? As of now, it seems to be a mixed bag. (This is 100% brain-fiction, not reliable.) In conclusion With this, Layer Zero has become a project that has joined hands with two giants, a16z and Tether, and the launch of Mainnet ZERO seems to be more than a passing boast. If we mix these two and draw a conclusion, we can deduce something like, "Are a16z and Tether impressed by Layer Zero's mainnet and vision?
