ChainCatcher news, Fantom officially announced that the upgrade of the existing Opera chain has reached the necessary 66% consensus level, marking its official launch. The release date is consistent with the expectations set at the beginning of the Sonic testnet phase last October, and the project is progressing smoothly without any delays.
Opera is now on track to achieve the following goals: ~2,000 TPS (~1 second finality) for variable/hybrid/complex transactions, ~4,000 TPS (~1.3 seconds completion) for token swaps, ~10,000 TPS (~1.6 seconds completion) for token transfers, ~66% reduction in validator node storage requirements, ~95% reduction in operating costs for archive nodes.
