Zerion launches testnet for layer-2 rollup ZERO Network, developed using ZKsync's ZK Stack SDK toolkit.
Zerion deploys testnet for ZERO Network, free of transaction fees for users
In the early morning of June 27, the Zerion blockchain-supported crypto wallet project deployed a testnet for Layer-2 ZERO Network, the first layer-2 that does not charge users transaction fees.

Partners such as 1INCH , Layer3 , and DODO are currently working on deployments on the ZERO testnet with support from Zerion's team for builders including Zerion's API and priority integration in Zerion Wallet.
Zerion CEO Evgeny Yurtaev said:
"Building ZERO Network with ZK Stack brings scalability through zero-knowledge proofs, EVM compatibility, and enhanced wallet experience through Account Abstraction,"
ZERO Network is the first EVM- compatible rollup to be completely transaction-free for users. This Layer-2 uses ZKsync's ZK Stack SDK toolkit for development and positions itself as a Hyperchain.
ZERO Network will pay Gas Price for users, providing a more on-chain interactive experience that ZERO claims is “as smooth as Web2”.
Specifically, ZERO Network provides a Gas Price free transaction experience thanks to the combination of Account Abstraction and Paymasters in a model that pays users with revenue.
Account Abstraction will perform "smart contractization" of wallet addresses, while Account Abstraction 's Paymasters layer is used to pay transaction fees with various types of ERC-20 Token instead of ETH. ZERO is built on ZK Stack's rollup technology, so this Layer-2 inherits the same Account Abstraction features as ZKsync .
ZERO's paid model uses network revenue to pay Gas Price, helping users not have to worry about transaction costs. zk rollup technology helps reduce costs as the network grows and more transactions are sent to Layer-1 in batches.
ZERO Network's revenue-paying model
The above diagram describes the process by which ZERO pays Gas Price to users. When a user creates a transaction, Zerion Wallet checks to XEM if the transaction can be funded with fees from the Paymaster. If eligible, Paymaster will verify and proceed to pay Gas Price. The transaction is then carried out without any fees from the user.
To solve the problem of spam due to no Gas Price on the network, Zerion introduced the Onchain DNA spam prevention system, distinguishing between real users and bots based on wallet balance as a criterion. More details about the anti-spam model will be announced by the network after the mainnet launch.
ZERO Network was previously introduced by Zerion in March 2024. Currently, ZERO Network's testnet has allowed users to participate in the experience and the network is expected to launch mainnet at the end of 2024.
ZERO Network is the next Layer-2 in ZKsync's Hyperchain ecosystem, along with other projects such as Sophon and ZKCandy . However, after the controversy surrounding ZKsync's Airdrop last June caused users to turn away from the network . The number of transactions on ZKsync has decreased significantly, only about 200 transactions per day.

ZERO Network really brings a breath of fresh air with its user transaction fee payment feature that may change the gloomy situation and attract users back to using the ecosystem of ZKsync and other hyperchains.
