ERC-404 is an experimental token standard that was open-sourced by the Pandora team for creators and developers in early February. It is a protocol standard that mixes ERC-20 (homogeneous tokens) and ERC-721 (non-homogeneous tokens NFTs), that is, NFTs and tokens can be converted into each other, with native liquidity and fragmented protocols. This is achieved through the corresponding logic between the quantity of FTs and NFTs, that is, the "casting and destruction" mechanism of NFTs.

The new features include the addition of ERC404 Tokens browser, including ERC404 V1 , DN404 , and ERC404 V2 sections.
The ERC404 V1 protocol was released on Github by Acme, a former software engineer at Coinbase, and there are many areas that need improvement. With the help of the community, the ERC404 team is currently building and improving the ERC404 protocol, and launched ERC404 V2 on February 15. V2 greatly reduces the gas consumption of ERC404 and optimizes the mechanism for buying and selling ERC404 tokens.
As a challenger to the established ERC404 standard, DN404 represents another implementation of ERC404 that aims to address its shortcomings. By prioritizing efficiency and security, it provides developers and users with a reliable tokenization and asset management framework.
