Odaily Odaily News: Lin Chen, head of Asia-Pacific business at Deribit, wrote on X that today’s largest BTC option is: a user paid $817,000 to buy a $63,000 call option at the end of the year, and sold a $66,000 call option on September 6, for a total of 100 BTC.

Odaily reports that the so-called election expiration options will expire and settle four days after the November 4 election. These options have been trading on Deribit for a month. According to data from Amberdata, the notional value of open contracts or the dollar value of active option contracts is $345.83 million. Call options account for 67% of the total open contracts, offering unlimited upside potential but limited losses. The remaining portion comes from put options, providing protection against price declines, resulting in a put/call ratio below 0.50. Algorithmic trading firm Wintermute, in a report shared with CoinDesk, stated that "these election-specific contracts allow investors to capitalize on increased interest by making targeted predictions about how the election will impact the crypto market." The current put/call ratio of 0.50 indicates a bullish sentiment, with the number of call options traded being twice the number of put options.

Odaily data shows that the current notional value of outstanding BTC options positions across the network is $21.381 billion (the previous day was $21.083 billion), and the notional value of outstanding ETH options positions is $6.367 billion (the previous day was $6.434 billion).

The total open interest of BTC options is $21.381 billion, and the open interest of ETH options is $6.367 billion.
