Everything You Need to Know About the Bitcoin PoS Layer 🧵🧪
I've discussed the non-custodial $BTC staking solution before, but let’s dive deeper into what makes it so significant.
Basically, this solution enabled the possibility of having a PoS layer for Bitcoin by allowing native Bitcoin holders to earn sustainable rewards for staking their coins and participating in securing the Proof-of-Stake layer ($CORE).
As a result, many BTC holders chose to stake their coins, which increased the TVL in Core DAO's solution by a LOT. This increase in TVL not only enhanced the security of the Core Chain but also shifted the competition among Bitcoin L2s. Other Bitcoin Layer 2s, saw Core DAO's dominance with over $300m in TVL, and pivoted away from BTC staking towards restaking solutions instead.
TL;DR
Non-custodial $BTC staking solution → Attracting a lot of TVL through stable yields → Securing the network via staked $BTC and creating a PoS Layer for Bitcoin.
