Earlier at around 09:30, BingX product chief Vivien Lin issued a message confirming that the hot wallet was hacked and activated an emergency response plan to freeze withdrawals, while emphasizing that withdrawals would be resumed within 24 hours at the latest:
At around 4 a.m. on September 20, Singapore time, our technical team detected an abnormality in network access and suspected that BingX's hot wallet had been hacked. We immediately activated emergency response plans, including emergency asset transfers and suspension of withdrawals.
There is a slight loss of assets, but the amount is small and is still being calculated.
In order to protect user assets, we adopt a layered management system, with most assets stored in cold wallets and only a few assets stored in hot wallets for withdrawal. To ensure safety, we have temporarily suspended withdrawals while conducting emergency inspections and strengthening wallet services.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Withdrawals will be resumed within 24 hours at the latest.
