Scroll will launch the SCR airdrop today at 3pm

The Ethereum Layer2 project Scroll will open Airdrop claims at 3 PM in Taiwan. This will distribute 7% of the total SCR token supply (70 million SCR), and according to Binance's pre-market price, the current price of SCR is $1.397.

SCR Airdrop Distribution Method

Participants in on-chain activities have over 570,000 wallets, and they will receive 5.5% of the token supply, which is 55,000,000 SCR tokens.

• 40,000,000 SCR (4% of the total supply) will be proportionally distributed to on-chain participants who accumulated 200 points or more at the snapshot time
• 10,000,000 SCR (1% of the total supply) will be evenly distributed to all eligible on-chain participants, ensuring that all eligible on-chain participants receive a meaningful airdrop, balancing the distribution across the entire community
• 5,000,000 SCR tokens (0.5% of the total supply) are on-chain rewards, which will be distributed to qualified on-chain participants who meet specific criteria, such as donating to Gitcoin, Juicebox, or using a smart contract wallet on Scroll

In addition, Scroll also provides additional airdrop rewards for industry contributors and the global community, including hackathon winners, educational data providers, and technical contributors.

According to Binance's pre-market price, the current price of SCR is $1.397.

SCR Airdrop Claim Time

Airdrop Claim Start: Eligible recipients can start claiming the airdrop from 3 PM Taiwan time on October 22, 2024.

SCR Airdrop Controversy

Although the token distribution is highly anticipated, many community members are dissatisfied with the design of the token airdrop. Some are disappointed with the 5.5% of tokens being prioritized for distribution on Binance's Launchpool, as Binance's token mining only lasted for two days, while the users who have been deeply engaged on the Scroll chain for months received the same amount of tokens.
