As I mentioned earlier, I am optimistic about the track I have identified. The overall idea is to "generate interest from outsiders and lower their entry barriers." In my opinion, the massive outbreak of AI Agents in the crypto industry can attract the interest and attention of people outside the industry, while the abstraction of chains/intents and the integration of cross-blockchain liquidity can lower the barriers for both insiders and outsiders to participate in DeFi, games, AI Agents, Polymarket, and other applications.
Therefore, my future content plan is to introduce as many projects in the relevant tracks as possible (with some of my personal opinions) to help you gain a deeper understanding.
The project I want to introduce today is Initia.
Let me add a sentence here: When researching a project, the first step is to check the data on websites like Rootdata, Coingecko, and defillama to set the tone for your research. Then you can use advanced tools like tokenterminal and Nansen to look at more detailed data. Researching a project is essentially a process of building cognition about it.
We can see Initia's basic information and funding situation on Rootdata ⬇️
Let's also look at what problem Initia is trying to solve.
The official/market keywords for Initia are "interconnectivity of all things," and it aims to solve the problem of "liquidity fragmentation and user segmentation caused by the increasing number of Layer1/Layer2 in the industry."
It has built a large, Ethereum-like Layer1+Layer2 framework, but with improvements on the Ethereum model ⬇️
1. Initia will ensure that the prosperity of Layer2 will feed back to Layer1, meaning that the Initia token has the ability to capture the value of the Layer2 ecosystem (avoiding the previous problem of ETH being unable to capture the value of the Layer2 ecosystem);
2. Initia supports the trading and circulation of assets on different Layer2s (to allow liquidity to flow more easily).
3. Each Layer2 has a complete infrastructure and unified incentive measures, including a cross-chain DEX, wallet, stablecoin (the native USDC supported by Noble), and blockchain explorer that supports Layer1-Layer2 cross-chain transactions.
4. It supports different languages, including EVM, MoveVM, or WasmVM, and may consider supporting SVM in the future if there is demand.
(Here I'd like to add that I hope Initia will still recognize the current situation and honestly support SVM.)
In summary, Initia hopes that developers from different ecosystems will come to it to build Layer2s. Initia's philosophy is that while modularity is cool and there may be a lot of chains in the future, the current fragmentation of backend infrastructure leads to fragmentation of the frontend, which affects the actual user experience.
Initia's focus is on the consistency of the stack, consistent data processing, interoperability, and infrastructure standards.
In its design, it has refined the responsibilities of the protocol layer and the second layer, with the former responsible for consensus, security, governance, liquidity, and inter-chain information transmission, while most ecosystem activities will take place on the second layer.
It abstracts the complexity between Layer1 and the various Layer2s, making the user experience simpler and more convenient.
Finally, let me mention a few areas where Initia needs to work harder.
1. Support for SVM. With the Solana ecosystem maintaining strong growth, Initia needs to complete support for Solana as soon as possible.
2. Currently, Initia's chain abstraction model is still concentrated within its own ecosystem, and its communication with ecosystems outside is done through IBC and Axelar. To truly achieve interconnectivity of all things, it still needs to build more scalable infrastructure to incorporate external Layer1/Layer2 into its own framework, achieving chain abstraction for the entire blockchain ecosystem.
One step at a time, slowly but surely.
Finally, let me give a small advertisement for my paid group, which currently has around 450 members. It is jointly operated by me and Mantou, with me focusing on investment research and fundamentals, and Mantou focusing on secondary market and on-chain meme-related content. The price is 3SOL/year.
