Odaily Planet Daily Report: The US SEC approved the listing of multiple direct investment Bitcoin ETFs in the US market in January 2024, marking a major milestone for the cryptocurrency industry. In July 2024, the US Securities and Exchange Commission also approved the listing applications of multiple spot Ethereum ETFs. In addition to the US, exchanges in Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong have also successively listed virtual asset spot ETFs.

Ernst & Young reminds investors that there are two key aspects to be aware of when investing in virtual assets. Firstly, the volatility risk, as virtual assets are currently widely recognized as a commodity, and the price fluctuations of such commodities are relatively severe without price limit restrictions, depending on the market conditions and regulatory changes, with high trading risks. Investors should fully understand the operating model before engaging in related transactions and carefully assess the potential risks. Secondly, the regulatory mechanism, as investors who trade through offshore virtual asset trading platforms may not be subject to domestic laws and regulations, and these offshore platforms may also not be supervised by foreign authorities. Additionally, the transparency of information related to these products traded overseas is relatively low. It is recommended that investors carefully consider the regulatory rigor of the trading platform's place of operation and the compliance status of the operator before investing.
