In yesterday's article, I mainly cited a line of thinking from the reference article:
That is, NFT project parties can consider issuing their own AI agents.
In fact, there have already been cases of NFT projects doing this.
However, in this case, the AI agent was initiated not by the project party, but by a community enthusiast. mfer was an NFT that was once quite popular on the internet. A fan of the mfer NFT community, @HeresMyEth, launched an AI agent focused on mfer, called @mferGPT.
But this project currently has little impact, and I haven't seen any major NFT project parties personally get involved in such operations.
In fact, there's no need to limit this kind of operation to just NFT projects, nor to just the creation of AI agents - it's entirely possible to operate all kinds of AI agent-related activities, such as building platforms similar to Virtuals.
Over the weekend, I came across such a case.
Speaking of zkSync, its airdrop has left many airdrop chasers with painful memories. After the token airdrop, I seem to have heard nothing more about the community discussing this once highly anticipated Ethereum layer 2 scaling solution, let alone any projects built on top of this layer 2.
But during my weekend browsing, I suddenly discovered that this layer 2 scaling solution now has a DEX that has transformed to mimic the Virtuals model. This DEX is Holdstation (

I've interacted with this DEX before, purely to farm airdrops. The only impression it left me with was that it supports Pay Master, allowing users to choose to use its token (Hold) to pay gas fees. This made my experience much smoother.
Apart from that, I don't see any other highlights of this DEX.
If I hadn't come across its news over the weekend, I wouldn't have even remembered this DEX.
In addition to continuing to maintain its DEX business, it has also transformed into a Virtuals-like AI agent financing platform, and it seems to have the support of the ecosystem.
Its model completely mimics Virtuals, allowing supported AI agents to issue tokens, and users must use its platform token Hold to buy these AI agent tokens.
Currently, this DEX has already issued AI agents, but these agents don't seem to have many highlights yet, and it also seems that not many people know about them. Only the project party is vigorously promoting and advertising on Twitter.
Regardless of whether this new method works or not, the project party's swift action has already shown that they are treating this model as a "last resort".
This sign makes me even more convinced that the Virtuals model will quickly spread to other ecosystems and be used by more half-dead projects to "revive".
If we further connect this model with the countless layer 2 scaling solutions now, the imagination space becomes even more segmented.
Doesn't Uniswap have its own Unichain?
Messari has a dedicated article analyzing whether Unichain is a general-purpose chain or a DeFi-specific chain.
Now it seems, no need to argue. If Uniswap also adopts the Virtuals method, specifically cultivating DeFi-focused AI agents (such as trading agents, payment agents, etc.) on Unichain, and uses its own UNI token as the exchange medium for these AI agent tokens, then it can develop its own DeFi AI agent ecosystem on its own chain.
And this is also a legitimate, non-regulatory-violating, token-empowering, and secure and effective approach.
Don't BAYC and Magic have their own dedicated game (layer 2) chains ApeChain and Treasure?
They can similarly adopt the Virtuals model to cultivate game-focused AI agents in their own ecosystems, and strongly empower their own tokens. This way, they can also build their own game-focused AI agent ecosystem and support the price of their own tokens.
If this idea can be implemented, I suspect the explosion that will follow will not only be AI agents, but a simultaneous explosion of layer 2 scaling solutions and AI agents - any project with strong fundamentals and ecosystem will consider building their own layer 2, and then building their own AI agent ecosystem on that layer 2.
The imagination space will be very large.
