Craig Wright, an Australian developer who claimed to be the creator of Dai (BTC), Satoshi Nakamoto, was sentenced to 1 year in prison and 2 years of probation for contempt of court.
According to CoinDesk on the 19th (local time), the UK court sentenced Wright to 1 year in prison, 2 years of probation, and a fine of 145,000 pounds (about 26,250,510,000 won) for 5 counts of contempt of court for filing a false lawsuit claiming to be the anonymous Dai (BTC) creator Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright, who was reportedly staying in an Asian country, refused to disclose his specific location and appeared virtually in court. Wright has announced that he will appeal the ruling.

This ruling is the result of the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) suing Wright in a UK court for violating a court order to stop lawsuits against companies issued in July. In March, Judge James Mellor ruled that he was not Satoshi Nakamoto, and in July, the court ordered him to stop suing companies. However, in October, he violated this and filed a lawsuit against more than 100 companies for about 900 billion pounds (about 1,631,439 billion won) in intellectual property infringement damages, claiming to be the Dai (BTC) creator. It is unclear whether the UK authorities will issue an arrest warrant for Wright based on the ruling on the 19th.
