The U.S. Department of Commerce plans to include Bitmain-affiliated AI company Sophgo on the restricted trade list

Foresight News reported, according to Reuters, that sources familiar with the matter revealed that the Biden administration plans to add Sophgo, an AI company affiliated with Bitmain, to the U.S. Commerce Department's restricted trade list, as the company's TSMC-manufactured chips were illegally incorporated into Huawei's AI processors. Foresight News previously reported that Sophgo had issued a written statement in response, emphasizing that it has never had any direct or indirect business relationship with Huawei, and claimed to have submitted a detailed investigation report to TSMC, proving its innocence in the Huawei investigation. However, the statement did not deny the fact that it had been cut off from TSMC's supply.
