Grass has announced an ambitious roadmap for 2025 after this decentralized platform, which specializes in data aggregation and distribution, highlighted its remarkable progress in 2024.
According to the company, the success in 2024 has laid the foundation for significant advancements in the coming year. They will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and decentralized data processing.
Grass to Focus on AI and Decentralized Data Processing in 2025
The network announced in an X (Twitter) post that "2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Grass," setting the stage for its new roadmap. In Grass's first workshop of 2025, the company outlined several key initiatives for the upcoming year.
"Grass is just getting started. After a year of expansion and breakthroughs, 2025 will push the boundaries of what's possible,"
the announcement stated.
The key highlights in Grass's 2025 roadmap include Multimodal Search. Specifically, the platform plans to activate AI models to search for information from video, audio, and text data in real-time. Grass also intends to implement new distribution methods to expand reach through mobile and other platforms, simplifying user access and participation.
Furthermore, the platform will discontinue support for Chrome extensions, replacing them with a more powerful and efficient desktop button. Additionally, they will introduce Horizontal Extensions, a new product to expand their capabilities, ensuring continuous development and innovation.
Another highlight is the Phase 1 Results of Sion. The Grass platform aims to enhance network efficiency, achieving data retrieval speeds 60 times faster.
"If you're wondering – network activity has dropped to nearly zero for a few days after Sion Phase 1 to allow our storage partners time to catch up. No one expected this capability to come so soon. Exciting times are ahead,"
Andrej Radonjic, a Grass collaborator and co-founder of Wynd Network, recently said.
Despite the news about the 2025 roadmap, the price of the GRASS token on the Grass network only increased slightly by 2.5%. According to data from BeInCrypto, at the time of writing, it is trading at $2.82.

Meanwhile, this roadmap comes after a successful year in 2024 for the Grass network. In 2024, Grass expanded, increasing its user base from 200,000 to 3 million – a significant 15-fold expansion. According to the post, the platform recorded a 1,000-fold increase in the number of videos indexed and distributed over $196 million to more than 2.2 million users in 2024. These achievements, along with an Airdrop, have elevated Grass's position in the decentralized application (Dapp) space.
Despite the success, Grass has faced some controversies. The Airdrop sparked fierce community reactions over token distribution issues, with many users accusing the uneven allocation of GRASS tokens. Furthermore, there were claims that the platform blocked Phantom wallet users from receiving their tokens, further fueling the criticism.
These issues temporarily damaged Grass's reputation, but ultimately did not slow its growth. Three months ago, the GRASS price surpassed $1 after its listing. This has helped the platform dominate the DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure) trading volume and solidify its market position.
