On January 24, the Roam Pilot Burning Pool feature was officially launched, allowing users to convert Roam Points into $ROAM tokens through the Pilot Burning Pool. With the TGE approaching, the Roam Pilot Burning Pool not only helps users familiarize themselves with the burning mechanism and operation process, but also allows them to explore the best strategies to maximize their personal returns. The burning pool has attracted a large number of users since its launch, with a cumulative burning volume of over 61 million Roam Points in the first 16 hours.
To address the issues encountered by community users during the participation process, on January 27, the Roam official held an AMA, where co-founder YZ personally answered questions and shared the operation status and best participation strategies of the burning pool.

Latest Progress and FAQs of the Roam Pilot Burning Pool
During the AMA, YZ first explained the differences between the Roam Pilot Burning Pool and the official Burning Pool:
Compared to the official Burning Pool, the Pilot Burning Pool aims to help users familiarize themselves with the working mechanism and related operation process of the Burning Pool, so the Pilot Burning Pool has not yet introduced a difficulty adjustment mechanism, while the official Burning Pool after the TGE will formally incorporate dynamic difficulty adjustment to ensure a token release that better fits the market situation. In addition, the total token release for each burning cycle in the Pilot Burning Pool will be consistent with the first burning cycle after the official Burning Pool goes live, and the total token release for each cycle in the official Burning Pool will be dynamically adjusted thereafter. And since Roam has not yet had a TGE, the $ROAM tokens obtained by users in the Polit Burning Pool will be claimed through the App account after the TGE.
Q 1: What are the most common issues encountered by users in this event? What are the main reasons?
YZ:In the past few days, we have found some issues that users have encountered. Some are related to the project itself, and some may be due to the fact that we still have room for improvement in community promotion, leading to users not being familiar enough with the rules and operation process.
- Miner Pool: The Miner Pool only supports the burning of Roam Points obtained through Roam miners (Rainier MAX60, Baker MAX30, MetaBlox OG). For example, if an account has a total of 200,000 Roam Points, but only 15,000 of them were obtained through Roam miners, then only those 15,000 Roam Points can be burned in the Miner Pool, and the remaining points cannot be used for the Miner Pool.
- Sticker Pool: Stickers only determine the amount of Roam Points that users can burn. If you have Stickers but not enough Roam Points, you still cannot participate in the burning. Similarly, if you have more than 500 Roam Points but not enough Stickers, you need to collect more Stickers before you can participate in the Sticker Pool.
- 48-hour lock-up rule: All Roam Points must be held in the account for 48 hours before they can be used for burning. The system updates the Roam Points balance at 00:00 UTC every day, and only the points that have been updated twice can be used for burning. For example: if the current time is Tuesday 00:00 UTC, then only the Roam Points obtained before Saturday 00:00 UTC can be used for burning. Therefore, the total Roam Points balance in the user's account and the actual burnable points may be different.
Although some issues have arisen during the process, they have all been resolved. The main purpose of the Pilot Burning Pool is to optimize the mechanism through testing, and we are very grateful for the feedback and support of the users. Overall, I believe the economic model has performed as expected.
Q 2: Some users have feedback that their Roam Points exceed 500, but they cannot burn them. What could be the reason?
YZ:One possible reason is that the user has chosen the wrong burning pool. The Miner Burning Pool is only open to users with Roam miners, so if you don't have a miner, you won't be able to burn Roam Points in that pool. Therefore, before operating, please be sure to carefully read the rules of each burning pool to ensure that you meet the participation conditions.
Overall, this is not a systemic bug. The number of users participating in the burning at any given time is stable at over 10,000, and if it were a systemic problem, we would have received a large number of complaints.
Q 3: Some users have reported that their account points show 0 or negative numbers, why is that?
YZ:We have indeed found some cases of abnormal user points. Among them, the system had mistakenly issued 460 Roam Points, causing many users to receive additional points in a short period of time. Our operations team discovered the problem within 5 minutes and quickly rolled it back, restoring the points to the correct value. However, during this period, about 300 users had completed burning and claimed tokens due to the mistakenly issued Roam Points. Although the impact was relatively small, to ensure fairness, we have rolled back the relevant accounts, so the points of some users may temporarily show as 0.
Q 4: How is the overall performance of the Pilot Burning Pool so far?
YZ:The Pilot Burning Pool has been online for only 16 hours, and the total burning volume has already exceeded 61 million Roam Points. The maximum number of users participating in a single cycle (about 17 minutes) is 15,000.
In addition, most of the burning activities are concentrated in the user-active periods of Asia, especially South Korea and Southeast Asia, where the communities are the most active.
Q 5: How can users maximize their burning returns? Do you have any suggestions?
YZ:The most important thing is to pay attention to the performance of each burning pool and choose the right timing to burn. I suggest first testing 10 cycles to observe the changes in token returns, and then adjust the strategy. If you have a large amount of Roam Points, I personally recommend not to put them all into the same cycle at once, as the overall return rate will be more susceptible to external influences. A more stable approach is to distribute the Roam Points across 500 to 1000 cycles. This method can make the returns more predictable and stable, while also reducing the impact of market fluctuations. Although there is no fixed optimal solution for burning strategies, by continuously optimizing, we can find a way that suits our own needs better.
Q 6: Based on user feedback, what optimizations will be made to the official Burning Pool in the future?
YZ:Based on user feedback, we plan to make the following optimizations:
- Remove the Sticker burning limit: Currently, the maximum number of Stickers that can be burned in a single transaction is 50, with a maximum of 5,000 Roam Points. This limit reduces the efficiency of burning. We plan to remove this limit to make Sticker burning more flexible.
- Optimize the operation experience: In future versions, users will be able to directly input the burning cycle and points amount, without the need to drag and select, improving the interaction efficiency.
Furthermore, regarding the performance of the Miner Burning Pool, I personally think it is currently performing well. Although the total burning points in the Miner Pool is 10 million, I don't think this is the final data. I have talked to many miner owners, and they are currently only investing a small amount of Roam Points for testing, but they may further increase the burning volume in the future. Therefore, I am very much looking forward to seeing the contribution of miner users to the Burning Pool in the future, and how they will affect the overall return rate.
Roam Pilot ROA pool is still open, and users can continue to participate in the experience
Currently, the Roam Pilot ROA pool activity is still ongoing, and users' active participation has provided important suggestions for optimizing the final version of Roam. With the continuous improvement of the burning mechanism and operation process, the user experience is expected to be further enhanced. Facing the upcoming TGE, users still have the opportunity to participate and optimize their own strategies. They only need to download the Roam App, earn enough Roam Points, and then participate in the burning to convert them into $ROAM tokens.
