Binance founder CZ revealed in a late-night social media interaction on February 12 that he had acquired a Belgian Malinois, but did not disclose its name or share a picture.
After the news broke, the community began to actively request CZ to reveal the name and picture of his pet dog, with the intention of creating a corresponding meme coin on the chain. At the time, CZ did not immediately satisfy the community's request, only responding that it was interesting and that he would take a day to consider whether to publicly disclose information about his pet dog.
CZ Pet Dog Named Broccoli
Last night at 9 o'clock, CZ posted a message on the X platform stating that he had finally decided to tell the community the name of his pet dog and would share a picture. This morning (14th) at 12:12, CZ announced that his pet dog's name is Broccoli, and explained the story behind him and his pet:
A year and a half ago, I casually chatted with a friend who owns a (real) zoo in Dubai. Out of curiosity, I asked him what kind of dog would adapt well to Dubai's high summer temperatures. I didn't have any plans to get a dog at the time.
That night, my doorbell rang, and a young Belgian Shepherd appeared at my door, complete with its own passport - all arranged by my zoo-owning friend.
I wanted a name starting with B and with a bit of a green feel, so I named him Broccoli. The name also has a bit of a blocky feel, like blockchain. Haha, can't escape crypto.

If you had asked me before last night, I would never have imagined that Broccoli would become a part of the blockchain ecosystem. But here we are. The crypto world is never boring.
I'm just sharing a picture and the name of my dog. I'm not issuing my own meme coin. That's up to the community (or not). I may interact with some of the more popular meme coins on the BNB Chain (BSC).

After posting the tweet, CZ further clarified that he will not be issuing any meme coins, and will let the community decide the ultimate winner:

Broccoli Related Meme Coins Proliferate
