Someone has burned 500 ETH (equivalent to $1.38 million) to spread a strange warning message about the latest "mind control" on the blockchain.
The latest English translation of the message, sent in Chinese on Monday, states: "The bosses of Kuande Investment, Feng Xin and Xu Yuzhi, have used mind control weapons to persecute all employees and former employees of the company. Even they themselves are being controlled."
Kuande Investment, also known as WizardQuant, is a China-based hedge fund that specializes in quantitative trading across multiple financial markets, including Futures Contracts, stocks, and options, according to the company's website.
500 ETH has been sent to a null address on the Ethereum network, with no private key, making these assets unrecoverable. This process is often referred to as "token burning" as it permanently removes tokens from circulation.
This is not the first time this user has burned money when sending messages on the blockchain, with a total of 603.38 ETH ($1.67 million) sent to a null address. On February 15, 70.36 ETH ($194,000) was burned with a message: "With the continuous development of the brain-machine interface and mind-reading technology, a new type of crime has emerged: wild animals have become completely puppets or slaves of digital machines."
Another 33.03 ETH ($91,000) was burned on February 10 with a similar message.
Additionally, this user has also made large donations to WikiLeaks. Initially funded from wallets labeled OKX and Binance, this address has sent a total of 711.52 ETH ($1.97 million) to the WikiLeaks donation address, according to data from Etherscan.
The latest WikiLeaks donation is 591.62 ETH ($1.63 million), made on Monday, accompanied by a message on the blockchain: "I am Hu Lezhi, an ordinary programmer and entrepreneur. Since October 2022, I have realized that I have been monitored and manipulated by a mind control organization since birth. When I became aware of its existence, they intensified their attacks on me. The past two years have been agonizing, and now I have lost all my humanity. I have decided to leave this world and hope this ugly world will be destroyed soon."
Another WikiLeaks donation this morning was accompanied by a message: "Brain-machine chips have been widely deployed for military purposes, and all military superpowers are using base stations, radio waves, and nano brain-machine chips to control their citizens." Previous donations also contained similar messages.
