On February 18, TechCrunch announced that after Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, launched its latest AI model Grok 3, the X platform has increased the price of the Premium+ subscription plan. This plan allows users to access the Grok 3 model, and the monthly fee has increased to nearly $50 USD. According to the X support page, the current monthly fee for the Premium+ plan in the United States is $50 USD, or $350 USD for a year, which is the second price increase in a few months. In December last year, the monthly fee for Premium+ had increased from $16 USD to $22 USD.
With the new pricing, Premium+ users will pay double the current amount. Additionally, xAI has separated some Grok 3 features into a separate SuperGrok plan, which can be accessed through the Grok app. As a result, features like "deep search" and "reasoning" are only available to Premium+ users. Notably, X's pricing is quite inconsistent. When the reporter tried to subscribe to Premium+, X showed a monthly price of $39.83 USD (annual fee of $477.95 USD), but the final checkout page listed the price as $395 USD for a year. Although the X support page states the monthly fee is $50 USD, the subscription page lists the price as $48.40 USD, and the checkout page shows $40 USD per month.
