Odaily reported that according to on-chain data analyst Yu Jing, 1 hour ago, the 15,000 cmETH unstaking request by the Bybit hacker was rejected by the cmETH withdrawal contract. Subsequently, the hacker authorized the transaction of cmETH on DODO, but did not proceed with further trading, possibly due to the shallow liquidity pool of cmETH. These 15,000 cmETH should have been intercepted. In addition to these 15,000 cmETH, the amount of ETH stolen from Bybit is 499,000 (approximately $137 million), which the hacker has dispersed across 51 addresses.

Subsequently, the hacker authorized the transaction of cmETH on DODO, but did not proceed with further transactions, possibly due to the shallow liquidity pool of cmETH. These 15,000 cmETH should have been intercepted. In addition to these 15,000 cmETH, the amount of ETH stolen from Bybit is 499,000 (approximately $137 million), which the hacker has dispersed and stored in 51 addresses.

Previously, it was reported that Bybit encountered a security incident tonight, with funds worth $1.44 billion being withdrawn, including: 401,347 ETH worth $1.12 billion; 90,376 stETH worth $253.16 million; 15,000 cmETH worth $44.13 million; and 8,000 mETH worth $23 million.

Bybit CEO has started a live broadcast to respond to the details of the ETH theft incident

Odaily reported that Bybit has officially posted on platform X, stating that they have reported the theft incident to the relevant authorities and will update as soon as more information is obtained. Fortunately, we have quickly and extensively collaborated with on-chain analysis institutions to identify the addresses involved. The relevant actions will reduce and counteract the ability of the malicious actors to dispose of and dump ETH in the market, narrowing the channels for the stolen funds to be disposed of.

Bybit: Has cooperated with on-chain analysis agencies to limit hackers from dumping ETH

Odaily reported that Beosin Trace detected a security incident at Bybit, where assets worth $1.44 billion were withdrawn, including: 401,347 ETH worth $1.12 billion; 90,376 stETH worth $253.16 million; 15,000 cmETH worth $44.13 million; and 8,000 mETH worth $23 million. The funds are now divided into groups of 10,000 ETH and deposited in more than 40 Ethereum addresses. All the hacker addresses have been added to the Beosin KYT label library, and Beosin KYT will issue alerts for any fund transfers involving these addresses. Beosin's security team analyzed that the attack method in this incident is similar to the WazirX case, where the front-end UI was used to deceive and get the multi-signature wallet to sign malicious content, resulting in the funds being transferred out.
